Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Shammala LLC (“Shammala”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Case Tracker & Civics Test mobile application (the “App”) and related services. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Who We Are
Case Tracker & Civics Test is developed and operated by Shammala LLC, a software company registered as a Limited Liability Company (LLC) in the State of Illinois, USA. Shammala LLC is the data controller for information processed through the App, except where stated otherwise.
2. Information We Collect
The App is designed to collect only the information needed to provide its core features. Depending on how you use the App, we may process the following categories of data:
2.1 Case and Usage Information
- USCIS receipt numbers that you manually enter to track your cases.
- Optional notes or timeline events that you add, which may be stored locally on your device or, if you choose to create an account, in our secure backend systems.
- Preferences related to Civics practice progress, favorites, mistakes, and exam results within the Civics Test module.
2.2 User Accounts and Authentication
You may use the App in different ways:
- Sign in with Apple
- Sign in with Google
- Sign in with Email
- Continue as Guest (limited, device-only use)
When you create or sign in to an account, the App stores limited information such as a unique user identifier and, if applicable, your email address. This information is used solely to:
- Maintain your account and session securely.
- Link your saved cases, timeline, and practice data to your account.
- Allow your data to persist across sessions or devices.
If you choose to use the App as a guest, your data remains on your device only and may be deleted if you uninstall or reset the App.
We do not store or have access to your Apple or Google login passwords. Authentication is handled by those providers or by our managed sign-in services, and we do not sell or share authentication credentials with any third party.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Allow you to track your USCIS case status in real time within the App.
- Securely store case numbers and related data in our cloud-based data storage systems, where applicable.
- Provide optional push notifications when your case status updates or new practice materials are available.
- Enable and improve the Civics Practice & Exam Mode features for educational and self-study purposes.
- Enhance the user experience with summaries, localization, and study progress tracking.
- Create and manage your user account when you opt to sign in, enabling secure access and data synchronization.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
4. Civics Practice & Exam Modes
The Civics Practice and Exam modes are designed for study and self-assessment only. Scores, favorites, and mistakes are stored locally on your device or in your account data (if you choose to sync), and are not shared with any external entity for advertising or profiling.
5. AI Summary and Translation Feature
The optional AI Summary feature may process only publicly available case status text (for example: “Case Was Received” or “Interview Scheduled”) to generate summaries or translations in the selected language.
No personal identifiers — such as receipt numbers, A-numbers, names, free-text notes, or device IDs — are intentionally sent to the AI service as part of this feature.
This feature is provided for informational and educational convenience only. It does not constitute legal advice or official government guidance.
6. Data Storage and Security
Account and case data are stored using industry-standard encryption and security practices. Depending on your use of the App, data may be stored locally on your device and/or in secure cloud infrastructure operated by reputable service providers.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, no system can be guaranteed completely secure. You may delete your account or associated data at any time from within the App (where supported) or by contacting us.
7. Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services to function correctly and securely, including but not limited to:
- Managed authentication, cloud storage, and notification providers used to keep your account and case data available and secure.
- Mobile platform services (for example, operating system and app store infrastructure).
We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party marketing analytics in the App. Third-party providers may collect certain technical information as part of their services (for example, device identifiers or crash logs), subject to their own privacy policies.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing USCIS, EOIR, or any U.S. government agency.
8. Subscriptions and Purchases
Certain features (such as advanced review options) may be available through optional in-app purchases or subscriptions. All payments and billing are processed by the app stores (for example, Apple App Store or Google Play), and we do not store your full payment card information.
You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your app store account settings, in accordance with the relevant store’s policies.
9. Account Deletion
If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated data, you can do so directly from within the App by going to Settings → Account → Delete account & all data. You may also submit a verified request at: https://www.statustracker.us/delete-account .
When you confirm deletion inside the App, all user-related data — including stored USCIS case numbers, timeline events, Civics practice results, and personal identifiers — will be promptly removed from our active databases.
After the deletion process begins, your account enters a pending removal state and will be fully and irreversibly deleted within 14 days from the date of your request. This grace period allows users to contact our support team in case of an unintended deletion. After the 14-day period, your account and all associated data are permanently erased from our systems, subject only to limited retention described below for security and legal purposes.
To ensure privacy and security, account deletion can only be initiated from within the App using your authenticated session or through our official deletion request form. If you need assistance, please contact: info@shammala.com.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have the right to:
- Delete your stored data at any time via the App’s settings, where available.
- Export or back up your timeline and practice results for personal use.
- Request clarification, access, or deletion of your data by emailing us at info@shammala.com.
11. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for individuals managing immigration cases or preparing for the U.S. citizenship test. It is not directed primarily at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
12. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
