Terms and Conditions

Last updated: December 2025

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Case Tracker & Civics Test mobile application (the “App”), related websites, and services (collectively, the “Service”), which are developed and operated by Shammala LLC (“Shammala”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), a software company registered as a Limited Liability Company (LLC) in the State of Illinois, USA. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. Purpose of the Service

Case Tracker & Civics Test helps users track the status of U.S. immigration cases and prepare for the U.S. citizenship interview through the Civics Test module. The Service provides case status viewing, optional alerts, reminders, and educational tools for self-practice.

The Service is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing USCIS, EOIR, NVC, DOS, DOJ, or any other government agency.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. If you use the Service on behalf of another person (for example, a spouse or dependent), you represent that you have permission to do so and that you will share service-related communications with that person where appropriate.

3. User Accounts and Access

You may use the App by signing in with Apple, Google, Email, or as a Guest. When you create an account, limited information (such as a unique identifier and email, if applicable) is stored to maintain your access and link your saved data securely.

If you continue as a guest, your data is stored only on your device and may be lost if the App is uninstalled or reset. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Service Sources and Update Frequency

The Service displays case status information that is publicly available from official sources such as USCIS and EOIR websites and systems. While we aim to provide timely notifications, updates may be delayed due to third-party outages, changes, rate limits, scheduled checks, weekends, or other technical constraints.

You acknowledge that the Service may not reflect the latest official case status at all times, and you should verify important information directly with official government sources.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to:

6. Civics Practice & Exam

The Civics Practice and Exam modules are designed solely for educational and self-practice purposes. Your responses, progress, and scores may be stored within your account or on your device, depending on how you use the App.

These features do not provide official test results, legal certification, or any guarantee of passing the U.S. civics examination.

7. Notifications

The Service may send push notifications about case updates, reminders, account events, or new Civics features. Notification delivery depends on external factors including device settings, platform services, and network connectivity. We do not guarantee immediate or successful delivery of all notifications.

You can control or disable notifications at any time from your device settings or, where available, from within the App.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

Some advanced features may require an optional subscription or in-app purchase. Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play (as applicable). Renewals, cancellations, refunds, and related terms are governed by the applicable store’s policies.

Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current billing period ends.

9. Privacy

We value your privacy and handle data as described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. AI Summary and Translation

The Service may include optional AI-based summaries, translations, or simplified explanations of public case status text. This feature is provided for convenience only.

You understand and agree that AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated, and should not be relied upon as official information, legal advice, or a substitute for verification with government sources or consultation with an attorney.

11. No Legal Advice

Shammala LLC is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Any information provided through the Service is for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified immigration attorney.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and availability.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that information displayed will be accurate, complete, or current at all times.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shammala LLC and its members, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid (if any) to Shammala LLC for the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Shammala LLC and its affiliates, members, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, misused the Service, or if continued access may harm the Service, Shammala LLC, or others.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. Certain sections of these Terms by their nature will survive termination, including sections related to disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and governing law.

16. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Please contact us first to try to resolve any dispute informally by emailing info@shammala.com.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you and Shammala LLC agree that any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration, on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding.

The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its applicable rules. Unless you and Shammala LLC agree otherwise, the arbitration will take place in Cook County, Illinois, or may be conducted remotely by video or telephone when appropriate.

The arbitrator may award the same damages and relief that a court of competent jurisdiction could award, on an individual basis only. The arbitrator’s decision will be final and binding.

Exceptions: Either party may bring a claim in small claims court if the claim qualifies, or seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for alleged unlawful use of intellectual property or unauthorized access to the Service.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and may provide additional notice through the App or website. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Contact

If you have any questions about these Terms, contact us at: info@shammala.com.

20. Official Government Communication

This Service does not replace or represent official communication channels with any U.S. government agency. For official information, please visit: www.uscis.gov or acis.eoir.justice.gov.
